Internet affairs: The signs to watch out for
Survey after survey confirms what many relationship experts as well as the average citizen already knows. The majority of men and women have cheated on their significant other at least once during the course of the relationship regardless of whether it was dating or marriage.
Now there is a new avenue which is starting to come into its own and by all accounts is threatening to increase the infidelity statistics dramatically.
The internet has been around for a while but the recent changes and innovations have made it for many of us a necessity of day to day life. To do business, socialize or carrying on an extramarital affair.
It was headed that way before a certain website which openly encourages infidelity came along. But with its emergence as well as other places offering the same services it is arguably on the brink of going main stream. It may or may not but the reality is online infidelity is a growing problem and because of the nature of cyberspace it makes catching a cheating spouse a lot more difficult.
What are some of things to look for when it comes to determining whether your significant other is having an online affair?
1. Time Away
While it may be more convenient and quicker than the traditional offline infidelity, it still takes time.
Yes they could conceivably confine their cyberspace activities to just communicating at the job. But more likely than not, home is where we get more relaxed with a lot more time to spare. This means they are probably spending more time on the computer and away from you and the rest of the family.
2. Nobody’s Business
Unless they are arrogant to the point of not caring or just absentminded then there is no doubt they are going to do everything possible to cover their tracks. That could include password protecting the computer, erasing their browser history or just going out a purchasing a laptop and hiding it from you. This last one may become apparent when you notice their lack of activity on the family computer. And from what you know about your spouse they always enjoy being online.
3. Change in Behavior
This goes for the offline world as well as cyberspace. If things are heating up between a cheating spouse and their online partner then their attitude toward you may also be changing. Things like overcompensating in the relationship to give the appearance of normalcy or putting some distance between the two of you.
